There are two schools of thought when it comes to weight loss. One approach is to focus strictly on the numbers (calories, macros) and treat the process like a math equation. The other is to focus on the healthy habits that lead to the ideal numbers. There is no “right” answer, but both approaches have their pros and cons. Specifically, it’s a question of speed vs. sustainability.
The speed element is one that I neglected early in my coaching career. This was a mistake, as I soon learned it negatively affected clients’ motivation early in the process—right when they needed it most.
